Is it important to take recommendation letter from employer to US consulate that I will return from trip?

Somebody told I need to carry a recommendation letter from my employer to US consulate to showing recommendation that I will return from my US trip

when I asked about the same with my employer, the people in HR department in turn asking me what to write

So if anybody know correct way of writing reference letter to US Consulate officer, that I will return from my trip

please let me know how and what should be written in that letter

  1. It just needs to say that you are indeed employed by that employer, and the date you are expected to return. You may also want to include the length of employment (a long employment there indicates that you are less likely to run off and leave that job).

There is no specific format, and such a letter is not a requirement.  But if want the letter, and if your company is sending you to the US for business, they should simply write a letter on company letterhead stating why you are going, whom you have meetings scheduled with, and about how long you expect to be there.

  3. It's unlikely  that such a letter would  have any real effect on your visa application, other than to inform the embassy that at least your employer knows and you aren't trying to sneak away from work. But the embassy consular officer won't give the employer's opinion that you will return a lot of weight. Since the letter is not required, there is no specific format for this. It should be on company letterhead.
