  1. absolutly

  2. Algae are already pretty advanced cells.

  3. It is possible that ancestors modern life may have found a source of energy in H2S.  The method of gaining energy is very similar to the pathway used by photosynthesis so it could be where the precursor to blue green algae came from.  It is very likely that life had been evolving for tens or hundreds of millions of years before it reached that stage.

  4. It is a possibility... but not as algae, there plants...

  5. Yes. For one extremely (often overlooked) important reason.

What would it possibly eat and subsist on, if there were no other carbon-based life forms?

  6. If you do not believe in a supreme creator, this is possible.
