Question:

Is it impossible to do the splits?

I am really unflexible and whenver I do the V stretch my hips feel like they are going to pop out. So is it ever physically impossible for someone to be able to do the splits or do I just need to stretch a lot more?

    I had a few friends her were in gymnastics and the could never do it before but after some time they Achieved doing the splits.

  5. sometimes you are able to do it just by stretching more... normally that works for the left and right split, but some people (like me) can stretch everyday for their middle split and never get it.  I have been working on it for a very long time and I went to a dance therapist and she said that most people have a point where their hips don't turn out anymore and that is where your middle split will end.  Mine is only a few inches off, but it still bothers me.  

    All you can do is stretch and stretch, but after that you just have to let your body be how it is.  the reason little kids are able to get all the way down sometimes is because their bones haven't developed and hardened all the way so they can force their hips a bit more.

  6. streching will help out when i started dance i had all my splits in 6 weeks if i can do it you can! and to the the guy who said if you dont have it by six youll never have it is so NOT true when i got my spitls i was 10

  7. no it is not impossible .you can learn the front split easy but it takes some time. place your favorite foot on the floor and bring your leg on your knee.stay for 15 seconds .then that with your other foot.than slowly do a split.for the other split slowly spread your legs and keep spreading until you do a split

  8. They just need to stretch more. It comes easily for others, and harder for others though. We are all different.

  9. you need to practice, practice. some people just aren't as flexible...not sure if it's really impossible. just remember to stretch always so you're muscles are warmed up and you don't hurt yourself.

  10. You need to strech an aweful lot more !

    If you keep practicing the splits you will find that gradually you will be able to stretch further and further over time

    over a long time though

  11. ive heard something like if you haven't done it by the age of 6 then you wont be able to do it
