Is it impossible to get a job in KSA?

I have a Degree of Bachelor of Languages and Linguistics (Second Class Upper with Honours) and a TESOL qualification-Cambridge CELTA (Pass B). I have two years of working experience (teaching English to Middle Eastern students in Malaysia). I've applied to many schools, centres, institutes and colleges in KSA. They were very happy as my qualifications met their requirements. However, the minute they knew I am a Malaysian passport holder, they rejected the application.

I know that there are others with higher qualifications and they would easily get the job. However, the ones that are somewhat less qualified too get the job just because they could get a work visa easily.

I don't mean to insult anyone but it bothers me that I can't get a job in KSA just because I am from Malaysia. It doesn't matter if my qualifications meet the job requirements. It doesn't matter if English is my first language and I have a native fluency in it.

Is there any educational institute in KSA that would hire me?

  1. Keep trying . the job market in KSA now is quite saturated . less demand with more spending .

It is true that people when they talk about teaching English for example they expect teachers whose 1st language is English . Anyway , linguistic institutions are not that many in KSA to start with due to the fact English is not widely used . so the people will learn English , but they will not find anybody to talk to .

English though is used mainly in the business arena but still very limited to documentation in sectors where they have connections with the international  community . and that's mostly in banks and major companies . the general technical sector which requires mostly fluent English is run by a majority of foreigners from all nations and those people have learnt English in their native countries .

Every year thousands of locals pay money to agencies which will take them for two or three months abroad to countries like Malysia , New Zealand , US and UK to study English

never loose hope and continue to apply .
