Well I went to see my bank manager the other day. I told him I paid my fees, and then we discussed my options. He ended up calling their recovery department to remove any harm done to my credit and he allowed me to open a new account.

  1. No, it is not impossible.  But if you're looking to re-open the same account number, it would depend on how long the account has been closed for.

  2. Even if the manager doesn't re-open your account, you'll want to pay the outstanding charges because banks report this to a national clearninghouse, and that will affect whether you can open a checking account in the future.

  3. Not only there, but if you do not immediately pay back the overdraft and bring your account positive, you may find it very difficult to open a bank account anywhere.
