I want one for relaxation purposes, and I want to know what if anything I would need to be concerned about. The fountain in question is about 4 feet tall.

  1. Humidity.

  2. Fountains do more than look and sound peaceful.  They act as natural humidifiers and clean the air of dust particles.  If you have wood floors they help keep them from drying and cracking.

It is very easy to maintain them, buy a product called Protec that will help keep your pump and fountain clean.

They use very little electricity since and can be turned on and off fairly easy and only run a pump and small lights.

  3. Possibly impractical...................but then ,its your house & if its your

money and time going into setting it up and running it?---why should we deny you the pleasure.?

  4. I don't think it's impractical, but it could run up your electric bill if it's constantly running, especially if it's a big one. If you're worried about that though I might consider getting a smaller one. Also, you would have to clean it regularly.

  5. No it is actually very cool. You would just want it to be in a place where if it leaked or flooded there wouldn't be valuable stuff by it. Depends on the design too.
