  1. I will echo what many other people have said.  It is not improper to hand write your invitation envelopes at all.  Many people even hire a professional calligrapher, or enlist a family member or friend who has beautiful handwriting.

If you do choose to hand write your envelopes, take good care to make them as neat and beautiful as possible.  Many of your friends and family may even save them as keepsakes of your wedding.  You can learn more about the FAQ's of Wedding invitations here: http://www.michaelcfina.com/ic/mcfina/se...

  2. Thats actually the RIGHT way to do it!

Computer printed addresses are a no-no.

However, you should use your best handwriting or ask someone with good writing.

  3. no, lots of people hand write them, it's fine

  4. I hand wrote all of mine. If you have nice handwriting that would look great!

Oh, sorry Lazy People. Didn't know I would get thumbs down for having beautiful handwriting.

  5. No.  In fact before computers it was improper to type the envelopes.  I suggest use labels with the script format.  Also, print out  several copies.  That way you will have them  for your thank you notes, and rehearsal dinner invitations.

Use the clear labels.  Now the inside envelope should still be handwritten.

  6. Not at all.  Just be sure the handwriting is neat and legible.

  7. You are supposed to handwrite the addresses. That is proper etiquette.

  8. I addressed them myself. If you are having a large wedding I would ask your mom, mom of the groom and anyone else who has great handwriting to address them. It also adds a special touch.

I know you did not ask this, but I do want to mention that I had drawn my own save the date cards. It had two hearts on the front and said One life, One love, two hearts that beat as one...

then on the inside it had the information of when the wedding was and where.

  9. Actually, this is what is considered the "proper" way to address your invitations.

  10. Not at all, actually it gives it a more personal touch! That's how i did mine, they looked great and i got compliments on them.

  11. i think it looks more personal.

  12. It is entirely proper, and the normal practice, to hand-write the addresses on the envelope of your wedding invitations. You would be in error if you *were* to have the addresses typed or machine printed. The only other alternative -- a hired calligrapher -- is acceptable, but rather ostentations and so, not in quite such good taste as hand-writing them yourself.

Of course, your handwriting ought to be legible, elegant and ladylike to carry this off with style.

  13. didn't you already ask this?

OKay so here was my answer:

It's perfectly fine.  I would even go to a craft or scrapbooking store and get a nice stampe or two and decorate the invite a bit as well.  But it is perfectly acceptable.  Even for a wedding hand written invites are acceptable (if you follow ettiquette rules). If you don't follow those rules then who cares do what you want! lol

  14. I just mailed my invites out last week, its supposed to be 'proper' to write in cursive hand writing on the outer & inner (if your using one) envelope & its 'improper' to use computer labels for your addresses.

  15. I will be handwriting mine. My budget does not allow for a calligrapher or for the invitation company to pre-print them.

  16. I hope not! I wrote all of mine! No, seriously, I think if you do it yourself it's more personalized and your guests will feel even more honored because you chose to handwrite their envelope.

  17. It looks better typed but i don't think people will think badly if you write them by hand.

  18. It's not improper, but almost all of the invitations I have ever received were computer printed or with a clear address label.  I did mine computer printed and they looked nice and neat.
