  1. of course not,as long as you have the ring volume turned down,remember,someone might be trying to get hold of you in an emergency, babysitter etc:.the only annoyance is people who share their conversation with everyone else


  2. You can leave your cell phone on without being rude, but you must set it to silent or vibrate mode. If you think there might be an emergency, you may look when it buzzes to see who has called, but it is absolutely and positively rude to carry on a conversation with someone else while you are eating with someone.

    Think about how you would like it. Wouldn't you feel a bit abandoned if you went out to dinner with a friend and they ignored you to chat on the phone? Or if you were having a nice peaceful dinner out and the person at the table next to you kept getting noisy phone calls? Of course you wouldn't. That's all etiquette is, making sure that you treat other people with the same respect you'd like them to treat you.

  4. yes, i think it is very rude when someone is talking on their phone in the middle of a restaurant.
