  1. I think you should ask before you order the food whether it is permitted to take it away. We were in a small town one evening and all the take away food places had closed.  The only food place open was the pub and we asked if we could get take-away (the guys were waiting for us to bring back food - they were fishing at the river) and the proprietor said "no".  The only thing he offered us were packets of potato chips.  Having said that, my hubby and I were staying in a small country town and the local pub there did offer take-away food.

  2. Just a bit.

Many pubs will have a sign saying that only food bought at the pub may be consumed on the premises.

  3. If you are asking if you can bring TA food into a pub and eat it, I'd say thats pretty rude, especially if the pub sells food. But if you're wanting to take away a pub meal then that would depend on the pub.

  4. I don't know about Australia but in the US pubs and bars are interested in making money.  They don't care if you eat in or take out as long as you pay for it.  If you are talking about alcohol I don't know what your laws are there but in the US it's illegal to take liquor out of a business that serves drinks.  You can only buy alcohol to go from a store which doesn't also serve drinks, such as a grocery store or liquor store.
