Is it inconsiderate to install and blast amplifiers and sub-woofers in cars and trucks?

Amplifiers and sub-woofers produce a loud base thump that could be very annoying to people over a block away. Isn't it being inconsiderate to make this modification that will definitely annoy other people.

  1. Absolutely.  I shouldn't be able to hear my neighbors come home at 3 AM.  You'd think that they'd have enough sense to turn it off at least when they pull into the subdivision.

  2. In most cases,yes.

However, in my very small town one of the old guys has a van with an "all-the-works" sound system. He comes to the kids baseball games and plays the national anthem. I find his use of the speakers to be quit tasteful.

  3. first off most systems that people have you cant hear from a block away.

second if its during day hours then its not inconsiderate at all, think about it when your driveing going at least 30 mph your only gonna hear me for 10sec the most. i dont get pissed when my niehbor mows his lawn and weed wacks for an hour and a half.

however if its the middle of the night and you drive through a quite niehborhood that is inconsiderate.

also when making this modifaction you dont have to blast it all the time mabe just when there on the hwy and knowbody can hear them.

so no it is not inconsiderate to other people installing subs and amps, the people using them can be inconsiderate.

  4. No, half of the fun is to annoy people.

  5. well this is a targeted question. people do things that other people don't like and that is just life. i might think your house is an eye sore or i might not like the perfume you are wearing but i can not stop you from being you. i might hate waiting in line behind you while you play $200 worth of lottery or what about if your exhaust on your car is bad and you can not afford to fix it but you have to go to work or i might not like your company parking on the street in front of my house because i park there everyday even thou its public property. i might not like that you smoke in a bar while having a beer. i might not like to see tampon ads on TV i might not like knowing that the police in every major city fly over the city with infra red cameras and can see right in peoples homes and could be watching you and your partner have s*x. a part of being an adult is learning to accept that people are different and will not always do what you see is fit. and just because a bureaucrat makes a law that says something is illegal doesn't mean it is wrong because regardless of what you believe this is America and by the Constitution there is no crime without a victim and think about the laws and ordinances that don't have victims.

  6. Yes.  If somebody outside the car can hear what is going on inside, it is time to turn down the volume.

  7. Well it all depends on how much of a jackass you want to be. I personally think that if they don't want to listen then they will either say something or ignore it till my car passes.

However, if it is too loud you can get a ticket from the police for disturbing the peace. (just a forewarning)
