I have two special needs kids. One might have possible autism and has odd which is oppositional defiance disorder and borderline retarded and adhd. So far this year they called dcfs which is social services on me and my famly 8 times. My son is known to have psycological issues and they still cannot deal right with him. they believe everything he says and still aftert the social worker told them to shut up and stop calling. if there are any concerns they were told to call her. instead they are making mountains out of molehills and traumatizxing my family. I seeked help with legal aid and others but sometimes they said this has nothing to do with his education. when I supplement him at home and they doubt everything I tell them and how I work with him. When i came home from on the of the allegations the whole entire assembly laughed at my son because of his fear of crowds and not liking being around alot of people. The whole staff gave me dirty looks after they investigated my family .

  1. I can tell you are a very caring mom and it hurts you to see your children going through these things, sounds like you are totally selfless.  I have a nephew who is now 17, was diagnosed with ODD at the age of 7 and put on heavy medication, add meds and antidepressants, which my sister stopped after 1 year.  He did grow out of it believe it or not without the meds, went to counseling for quite awhile though and was extremely involved in sports his entire life from 7-17, it seemed to divert his energies away from the family so much.  I would try to go to a new district, maybe a school of choice if that is offered by your home?  or possibly a special needs school that will know how to deal with situations like this.  It is not that uncommon and I am really sad and surprised to hear people are so ignorant.   I remember how it just took so much out of sister and her family when my nephew was young and going full force with ODD behaviors, nobody knows until they experience it what an awful thing it actually can be.  Good luck to you and your boys.
