Question:

Is it just Vista being Vista?

I received a computer as a graduation present that came with Windows Vista. While I love it because IT IS SO PRETTY, I'm having some issues. Namely, the dreaded Blue Screen of Death. I have never in my life encountered it until upgrading to Vista, and now I seem to get them quite often: usually when it encounters something it doesn't like, such as AOL Instant Messenger, banner ads, or Battle for Middle Earth: Rise of the Witch-King.

Is this just Vista being its glitchy self, or is there something else going on with my computer where it rolls over and dies every time it encounters something it doesn't like?

  1. Hi, I use Vista on many machines and don't have any problems at all. Usually the blue screen of death is a sign of a problem.

First of all try upgrading all the drivers on the machine to the latest stable version and have your hardware checked. It could even be bad ram.

It could be a specific program to, so check out if there is any specific program causing the problem.

Just run a safety scan from Microsoft's website as well

The most important point to know here is that Vista isn't crashing for no reason, there has to be something wrong that the blue screen of death keeps coming to u.

    Good Luck and take care!

  2. I don't have that problem.  But these experiences are derived from the compatibility issues concerning Vista.  That is not to say that "Vista does not work with these programs".  The problem is Vista has issues working with these programs.

When it sends all of its resources to run that program, you experience the blue screen of death.  I love Vista, it looks great!

Using the computer is one great way to make the OS run faster.  Vista is built for this.

    Regards,

  3. it also happens to my vista before but when i installed the ms office 2007 it cured  it.

  4. I have Vista and I get a blue screen fairly regularly. I'm pretty sure it's just a glitch, I did get warnings before I bought my laptop that Vista isn't the greatest, I think most people have these problems.
