Is it just me, or are the olympics this year kinda "weird?"?

after people kicking refs in the face, people fainting off of canoes, boxing matches totally scored wrongly, to bronze medalists being disqualified for giving up their medal, there just seems to be more things foul in this olympic games them ever before. is it just me or am i hearing about more and more mishaps everyday. i guess chinese people have more to worry about then driving behind the wheel. (sorry) but come on, im serious. this is just weird. any input on this?

yeah..it was weird.

I think the Chinese were trying too hard.

They had to take water from reservoirs that the poorer citizens were using from, and now their crops are all dried up.

I know China wants a good Olympics but they weren't ready for it.

Oh well..looking forward to Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics!

It's more things than average, but stuff happens at every olympics.

Yahoo just has better coverage of these olympics this year.

Compare it with Munich 1972 or Los Angeles 1984 and you'll see it wasn't all that weird.

I jus think they r weird! They r funny too LOL . Certain things they put in slow motion and speed up r hilarious. The Olympics make me wish I smoked weed cause I think I would  have a blast! N when the gymnist were on there it was a freaky Russian man on there who got a little bit too excited for me LOL. Wow...2008 wat a year

I only hear this from Americans, sore at the fact that China destroyed the US in the gold medal stakes. It's been one long complaint about unfairness, when really it's about bad sportsmanship.

Remember that the events that had all the troubles were all judged events.It is not China's fault that the judges corrupt.The Chinese people are not the one making the laws for medals it is the IOC.If the IOC and the judges do not change their ways then the 2012 olympics would not be any different.

Yes i understand what you mean, and yes i do believe they are a lot "weirder" than the other Olympics. There has been more controversy stirring around this Olympics than any other previous ones (take a look at the ones in Athens, Syndney, etc).  I think politics is really starting to get to the Olympic spirit....it's s******g up the games real bad.  But...it's not as bad as the one In Berlin in the 30s.
