  1. I'm not sure I'd call it 'crazy' but I'd sure call it the most interesting election cycle I've ever seen and I've been following them since Harry Truman was in office.

  2. It's just you.  You obviously weren't around for the 1960 election that pitted Pretty Boy JFK against the more knowledgeable Richard Nixon in which Pretty Boy won due to his performance and good looks in what is called the first televised election in this country.  And that election was CLOSE, the closest one up to that time.  And then the 1968 election which put the very uncivilized demo national convention in Chicago on national television, and Richard Nixon won.  And then the 1972 election in which the demos trumped up this big "scandal" against Nixon and got him to resign from office.  Which of course got the 1976 election in which the only non-elected President ever lost his re-election bid against good ol' Jimmy Carter, and our country went to "h**l in a handbasket" because of.  And then, of course, was the incredulously stupid election of another "Pretty Boy", Billy Clinton, who, between he and his wife of extreme ill-repute, brought this country into so much scandal that it was an embarrassment to say which country you were from for one of the first times in our history.  And these were just a few of the incredible elections over my lifetime, so, this is by far no way near the craziest election year ever.  You just haven't lived long enough.  You'll see plenty more in your lifetime.  God Bless you.

  3. 2000 was pretty crazy, too.

  4. It's not just you.

  5. yes it is. All b/c Obama and Clinton were making history and McCain being the first candidate w/amnesia.

  6. it's only "crazy" in the sense that we have finally turned the corner, with having a first "african-american candidate" and a "female" (albeit staunch conservative) on the tickets.

so if that's crazy, let's go crazy!!!

  7. yes. Its the first year we are gaurenteed to have a minority of one kind or another in the white house weather its VP or pres. People are heated as ever and voting registraiton is sky rocketing. Its going to be one h**l of a battle.

  8. Yes it started out with the GOP looking over their candidates, and seeing they had no one who could overcome the handicap of being W's pal, and there was no one who could stop Hillary. So they tried a new tactic; make believe they are democrats and vote for the Black guy in the democrat primaries. So far, the plan is working great!

  9. This is a time of a lot of unrest at home about a lot of different things (jobs, fuel, the war). And on its face, anyway, this election LOOKS like a brand-new departure from the past, with the charismatic Obama's candidacy. So people are getting more emotionally invested in this race. Craziest? It's certainly got the greatest potential for excitement I've seen in years.

  10. The year there was an actual duel was probably the craziest!  :-)

  11. I am already envisioning claims of voter fraud ,voter disenfranchisement, voter machine errors and a another court battle.

  12. Yep Americans just prove over and over how gullible and easily fooled they can be....welcome to reality.

What's CRAZY is the fact you always make the wrong choices....time will tell if anyone has really learned anything but I highly doubt it's enough to make a difference.

Sorry but a 50/50 split with BUSH running...OMG...fool me once... but TWICE..duh...

Besides everyone knew his brother in Florida as governor fudged the results.  EVERYONE.

Insane how easily some people are duped.  Sorry but everyone is in shock big time....worldwide too....

  13. Well, I kinda thought 2000 was pretty messed up. Count the chad, don't count the chad. Is the chad dimpled? Al Gore won the popular vote but lost the electoral. To me that was a national scandal that people took way too lightly G.W.Bush should have never been our president.

Edit. Even if that actually were the case, it doesn't excuse what went on.

  14. If the Democrats would have got their act together it would have not been so crazy. The Republicans are making better choices in every way.

  15. Yes and the craziest pick for a vp for Mccain. What the he ll was he thinking. Little old man.

  16. The Ford/Carter elections was worse.  Obama is even sounding like Carter in 1976.  That's not good change or even change at all.

  17. This is an exciting, historic election and I for one feel honored to be a voter this year.  I feel like no matter who wins, it will be good for our country - electing either our first African-American President or our first female Vice-President.  It makes me so proud to be an American - to live in a country of endless possibility and opportunity.  I live in Texas so my vote is not very relevant (our 34 electoral votes are very safe Republican), but I had supported Hillary Clinton in the primaries and now will likely vote for McCain.

Even so - this is a GREAT year - and I will not be upset or disappointed if Obama wins.
