I'm actually more amused that so many people pick the "silly and idiotic" features, or at least the ones I'd put into that category.  A lot of the eye options are huge (anime, anyone?) and I just don't know what to say about the lips.

Maybe cartoon-me looks silly and idiotic to you, though.  It's sort of a matter of opinion, isn't it?

I think that they should call them caricatures rather than avatars, myself.  That's what they seem a lot more like to me.

Yeah there are a couple--the one that looks like she got collagen injections and popped eyes and the one that looks like a Neanderthal who needs an eyebrow waxing are the ones that come to mind.
