  1. I agree! China is the HOST country after all...

  2. i think that there is something definitely wrong with the scoring. Home town advantage?

  3. yeah its kinda wierd cuz once when i was watching, china and america did equally but chine got a whole point more!!

  4. It has nothing to do with the "hometown" the judges weren't even from China, so why would they give them higher marks?

The judging is based on peoples opinions, and although you and others may disagree, once the score is in that is the score. (unless the Technical judge thinks that there is something wrong with the score, which happened last night a couple of times).

Since the judging is all about a couple peoples opinions it is never going to seem fair. Get over it, that is just the way it is.

  5. Yeah, a Chinese girl scored way higher on the balance beam than Shawn Johnson even though she had some balance problems and was wobbly.  Bah....

  6. I agree. That's why America got gold and silver.

  7. I so agree with you!  Matter of fact I asked almost the exact same question!  Even Tim Dagget was confused by the scoring.  Why isn't everyone taking a closer look at that!

  8. i think it might be because they're in china.

  9. no, i also agree. watching the event finals right now, alicia sacramone stuck both of her landings, except for a couple of hops...yet cheng fei completely falls down and she gets a higher score and a medal. sure, she may have had a higher start value, but alicia did not fall or step out of bounds like so many of the other girls did. i just don't think it's fair at all. i think the judges pick favorites and judge them accordingly to their personal opinions. there have been several other instances during these gymnastics where china was scored unfairly higher...it's not about most of the judges being chinese, cuz they're not, it's just about them being biased for whatever reasons

  10. I guess that's why you are not a judge.  It's not like there are more chinese judges, why does everyone cry cheat so much?  Oh wait, it's only the Americans crying.

  11. That Chinese girl wavered so much on the beam last night and scored so high anyway! Ridiculous. They changed the scoring system (the perfect 10) because there was a lot of controversy that the scoring was unfair (like your bra strap showing is a tenth of a point off!). But this system is just as bad that they should just revert back to the perfect 10 system. The movie Stick It kinda explains why the perfect 10 system was unfair, haha. But yeah. I think they need some new, neutral judges.

  12. I don't think it is unfair.  Judges look at ur performance and difficulty level.

May be American doing easy one, and so there is no mistakes.

I think Chinese's performance are better more than American's, but Chinese tended to make many mistakes.

  13. The scores are not fair; they'll never be fair because there are so many complicated elements that go along with gymnastics. It needs people to judge it and it will always be unfair.

  14. Whether they were judging fairly or not, the best two gymnasts came out on top last night, and that is all that matters. GO NASTIA & SHAWN AND GO USA!!!!!!!!!!!!

  15. Have u noticed how when NBC commentators and other announcers comment on US they:

    1) if they mess up, they dont really say much

    2) if they do say something they use the words "slight, a little, shouldn't bring down much"

3)when its obvious they direct attention to something else

and how when other countries mess up they spaz:

1)if its slight they say " Oh My, Nasty mistake"

    2) if they see something " That will certianly cost them ALOT"

    3)nitpic every mistake

    Why?

    1) commentators have not competed or trained for that sport. (mainly just watching it for 5-10 years since they usually 20-30)

    2) guess what? home COMMENTATOR advantage thus making the comments slightly bias

    3) now at CBC comments.. A olympian gymnast was commentating and it was a HUGE difference. He was not confused, knew what he was talking about all the time and he wasnt rude pointing out the mistakes by all the countries mistakes they made

  16. i totally agree with you!  it's just that probably the Chinese holding the Olympics...and then they're cheating to make them look really great when they're not...but last night Shawn Johnson and Nastia really beat the c**p out of the Chinese!

    -yay!

  17. i agree.
