EXPERIAN seems to be the most difficult of all the credit bureaus to request a credit report from ??

Last year I requested a credit report from all 3 and Experian never responded to my request, i asked for a report due to being denied credit and I enclosed a copy of that letter. I got a report back from the other two bureaus.

So I'm trying to get a report from Experian this time with a letter that says Experian is who they requested my epot from, hopefully this time they will respond. Any tips for making this more successful, I've always noticed Experian was less helpful , the other two bureaus work very quickly etc...does anyone else think this also?

  1. Yes, Experian is a headache to get a report from.   I had to send in personal info via snail mail.  Then it took weeks to get the report.

  2. You can get free credit reports once per year from each agency online through www.annualcreditreport.com or the link to that from www.ftc.gov.  If you do that, you can view or print them immediately (no waiting for them to send anything).

If you want to save the printouts on your PC, you can save them as PDF files, like with a program from www.pdf995.com

  3. Yep....Experian is by far the worst of the big three. You often have to force them to follow the Fair Credit Reporting Act...otherwise they'll make up their own rules....

Use annualcreditreport.com (NOT freecreditreport.com) to get a free credit report from Experian.

  4. I've never heard of people having trouble getting reports from Experian, but like Slimick and Latebreakfast said, they don't like to follow the law unless you force them.

  5. It is a crapshoot. Equifax has always given me headaches, and TransUnion has been a pain for my wife to deal with.

It sounds like you did all you could to get your report from them. See if they respond to your last letter.
