Question:

Is it just me or does it seem like there are more organizations saving animals than children?

Don't get me wrong, animals do not deserve cruel treatment and I'm not saying there shouldn't be animal activists, there needs to be people helping animals too. No living thing deserves to be left out to starve, to be diseased, and abused. That being said, why are there so many children experiencing those exact things? The activism and publicity for children advocacy seems to take a back seat to animal issues? I'm not even talking about other countries, I am talking about in my own country, USA. Other countries are just as important but I'm trying to narrow down from a globalization. Can anyone give me a real answer to this? I know it's all a matter of opinion but surely I'm not the only one that has noticed that abused/mistreated animals get more press time and advertising for help than children.

  1. yeah I know what you mean. Humans come first.

  2. I hadn't really thought about it before, but yeah it does seem like there are a lot more organisations trying to help animals.  It could be that they just create more awareness towards animal rights as people have different opinions regarding this.  There could be even more organisations to help children but they can help and do their work without needing so much support from the public - animal rights organisations normally rely on the public to put pressure on companies, or simply need to let people know what really goes on.  Whereas basically everyone knows about child abuse and would want it to stop.  Good point, though.
