  1. No, it never burns my thighs.

  2. PLEASE DO NOT LISTEN TO THE PERSON WHO SAID TO PUT LOTION ON YOUR LEGS!!!!!!!!!!! THAT IS DANGEROUS AND WILL DO NOTHING BUT ALLOW YOU MORE ROOM FOR ERROR & INJURY.

I Own a Pole Dance Studio In Marietta Georgia, Here is what we tell and Post on our Website for our New Students to be aware of when First learning how to pole dance:

    Bruises:

Dance poles are  made of metal & your body may bump into the pole causing

bruises. These usually go away very quickly, and as your body gets used to the

spins, you will stop bruising yourself.

(If your bruising is more severe, place an ice pack on the affected area to reduce pain

and swelling. Leave it on for 10-20 minutes several times a day)

    Pole Friction (chaffing) /Pole Burn:

This can sometimes be caused by gripping the pole too tightly as you spin.

This is quite normal and, as you progress, you’ll learn to relax your grip naturally

as you become more confident with your pole work.

    Slipping:

NEVER  apply oils or lotions prior to a Pole Class or Pole Party.

If you get hot or have very sweaty hands this can make it harder to grip. If at

anytime during Your Pole Class or Party you find it to difficult to grip, simply ask

your Pole Dance Instructor for a Sample of Mighty Grip.

I hope that this information helps, and It will get easier as you progress in class.

  3. its because you dont have enough lotion on your legs. try putting vaseoline on the spots you find that get irritated! go girl go!!!! lol

  4. ok, stupid jokes aside, yes it hurts!  I have callouses on the palms of both my hands, just above the wrists from pole dancing. I also found that I bruised when first trying new tricks and spins. I found them most commonly on the side of my ribcage, the inside of my arm and my inner thighs. Make sure that your legs are clean and don't use any lotions the day of dancing. If you need to strip oils from your skin for better grip, use rubbing alcohol.

The more you practice, the better you get and the less you bruise... good luck!
