  1. yea...no one wants to be responsible for giving out wrong information

  2. i agree

  3. Imagine if say Tesco's website was as useless, they wouldn't sell much over the net.

Why don't we let Tesco run the country, I am certain that they would do a better job than this lot, they handle personal information every day, and the tea boy doesn't lose it in the post.

  4. Some are designed better than others, in terms of functionality and usefulness.  US Department of State websites are remarkably well done.

  5. There's a clue in there somewhere about your politicians!

  6. No it's not just you. I work in health and so have to use the Department of Health's website regularly. Unless you know exactly what you are looking for and exactly where it is (isn't that an oxymoron on the internet!) you stand next to no chance of finding it!

  7. I don't expect the websites to be any better than the government. Useless!

  8. That depends on the web site.  Many are not designed with the intent of providing the public with easier access to meaningful information (more than just the general stuff.)

Web sites seem to be designed in many cases by public relations types.

If people have difficulty getting information even through other means despite Freedom of Information Laws, don't expect the web sites for those government agencies to be much help.

  9. I suppose it really depends on what you're looking for and if you're looking at the right source for the answers your looking for.

  10. I think it's just you.

  11. I agree with you, some of their sites have you going round in circles and then you don't get the answer that you are looking for.

  12. I think Government websites are not that bad.

Mind you, there's almost as much chance of finding government information on CDs in a railway station lost property office as there is on the internet.

  13. Is it just you who's totally useless? Dunno, I'll check out the Government websites and get back to you.

  14. ever government is useless never mind their websites

  15. They are just awful! What does this say about how well biometric ID cards will work when introduced? Not a lot.

  16. It is not that they are useless; just that they don't like people to be able to find information easily, much the same as the governments themselves work.
