  1. You know, maybe Feds fell into bad habits being sick in the first 2 months of the season. Kind of like Dementiava with her horrible serving from a hurt arm and than developing and keeping a horrible serving motion. Looks like Federer is putting people back in his wheelhouse and when he's making those incredible shots effortlessly and consistently like Nadal does than you know he's on his game.

  2. No he's not - he's playing weak opponents who can be beaten by any top 10 player. Stepanek is older and over the hill. Against the top contenders (i.e: Rafa, Novak) he stands no chance.

  3. It's not just you. I saw the match today (with the exception of the section that CBS decided to cut to go to the Muller/Almagro match) and he looked great. 80% first serve, winning most, grounstrokes looked great, and his volleys were hit with way more authority than in the Wimbledon final. For one of the few times this year he really looked sharp and focused. Considering that Stepanek is a former top-tenner and has a very awkward game, I'd say that was a pretty impressive result. It was only the third round and there's a whole lot of US Open yet to go, but that performance certainly bodes well for his chances of bagging his first Slam of the year. Here's hoping Rog can build on that success.

  4. He looks great right now, I would be surprised if he doesn't get to the Semi's or even the final.  I think he can win his 5th US Open in a row, but it will be tough, he will probably have to go through Djokovic and Nadal.  If he wins it, he will have earned it.

  5. Yes he did play quite well against Stepanek. The real test lies ahead, Hope the good run continues!

  6. You are probably right.

    I noticed that as well

    no more stupid unforced errors

hopefully it will be him and Nadal in the finals

im not expecting roger to beat him though

  7. Yea you're absolutely right mate. His is in great form ( thank god ). He told in the interview that he has now recovered from his mononeucleosis. ( Did you check that back hand by Roger to Stepanek when he broke him?) Lol it's all great.

  8. i think he is holding himself

  9. Yes. He was fantastic against Stepanek today, especially his serve and backhand. I'm sure he will get his 5th US Open.

  10. I TOTALLY agree with you! He's doing SO well! Most people expected him to lose against Stepanek but he was in form, he played really well, moved well and won in straight sets! That's a GREAT answer to all the people who've been doubting him and criticising him!

He's lost enough and he knows that. He'll make it to the semi-finals AT LEAST! And I think there's a pretty good chance he'll beat Djokovic too.

How can we let a poor season over-look his previous victories? He's the CHAMPION! He's a great great great player - and I'm so glad he's finally coming back. :)

  11. The king had returned.

  12. it seems that way!!

hope he can meet with andy roddick in the semis.-

  13. He looked good.  Obviously, he has a tough draw with Djokovic in the semis and Nadal in the finals.
