Is it just me or is spanish news more depressing than anything else?

i swear all u hear about is who set who on fire, a father stabbing a child, or a mother, also not too long ago there was a mother who's daugther was pregnant and she wanted her to get an abortion, and when the girl was getting ready to give birth (at home) the mom yank the umbiblical cord right off. and soo much more,like about women who adopted 9 kids with mental problems from different homes, and with the money the government gives her, she bought a huge house in fl and kept the kids in the basement and told them that if they were to talk she would cut their heads off. ofcourse now they're adults but have serious psycological problems.

i say spanish news because i dont see this much violence on news like FOX, or NBC. so sad. what's wrong with ppl?!

Unless I'm totally wrong you might be referring to (and watching too much) news magazines AL ROJO VIVO and AQUI Y AHORA. And probably the one which takes the cake is PRIMER IMPACTO!!!!! Myself not watching too much Spanish TV in the last few years at least, am aware about these three that I just mentioned. And YES they are depressing.

The reason you find them much too depressing and with an incredible amount of gory stories (among others) is that these more than news casts they are in the business of sensationalism. So they will give you more of the BLOOD, KILLINGS, etc,. etc.

Much, unfortunately, in the manner in which FOX, CNN, MSNBC, et al, are sensationalists concerning political and goverment news. And of lately with a TINGE of the mundane as well: Britney Spears; Jamie Lynn Spears; Lindsay Lohan; Madonna/Alex Rodriguez....And of course they seem to repeat whatever piece of news they're fixated upon at the moment.

So if you're really interested in news and have access to a computer, check as many network, cable and other news media online. But don't forget REUTERS, AP, and BBC among others. You will probably see less headlines at times from them but whatever they are reporting that is INDEED news!!!!
