Why is it that with spell check available on emails, Microsoft Word, and even on here, that people seem to be incapable of using proper spelling and grammar? And most importantly to my situation: Unable to stick to the "call of the question"?

Your thoughts?

  1. Klondike, you poor thing....did you even READ the question? Bless your little heart..Do you even understand what "call of the question" means? It seems like you did not since you weren't able to stick to the "call of the question" or  use spell check yourself.

To answer your question Tami L::: Yes, I have noticed a disturbing trend of individuals who are incapable of using proper spelling and grammar. I do agree that it is part of the failed education system AND poor parenting. If parents would spend more time making sure their children's heads are more in books instead of on TV, than maybe things would be better.

  2. Too many stupid Parents are raising (or not raising) too many stupid kids! With a primary educational system mediocre at best, the kids don't have much of a chance. Society and the government should demand that kids not be allowed to quit school until they have learn at least the basics even if we have to incarcerate some problem individuals in order for them to learn. Giving a pass to certain groups or individuals for some geopolitical excuses does not help them or Society as a whole! It is not that some are not intelligent, they just lack a good basic education!

  3. if you judge the intelligence of people by the Q's they ask here then yes you r write , as for spell check it can be fooled and some people don't like a machine telling them what to do , as for your situation you could not even stick to the call of the question ,  you asked three . Do we need spell check or question check ? nothing worse than some one answering a question with another is there ?

  4. It's text talk. 'U r goin 2 te parti 2nite @ 8?' are two things: Convenient and trendy. Whether they should be used on Yahoo! Answers or not is out of the question. They aren't going to stop, whether I yell at them or you lament about it.

I hate it when people say, "OMG, u r sooooo rite!" It's 'right' people. "Your mean" is not correct, it's "You're mean". If I could, I'd go through and check and correct every mistake in the replies here, but, sadly, that's impossible.

I notice that some people don't stick to the point of the question. In fact, some don't even seem to regard the question at all, choosing to answer with "idk" or "OMG wtf".

Unfortunately, there's nothing to be done about this. I'm not going to argue that it's not convenient to type out, "ur late, its 7, im @ te park" instead of the lengthier version, but Yahoo! Answers really isn't the place to do this, folks.

  5. I totally agree with you. I can understand some "cultural" language usages, but really! Some of the questions and answers on here are totally unintelligible!

  6. It's just you.

  7. I agree. It's mostly because the education system in America isn't working very well. The regular classes don't learn anything. Senior year, my friend's 4th year English final was half filled with questions revolving around there/their/they're, its/it's, and where/wear/were. It was pathetic
