Today during my lunch hour I stopped by one of the local pharmacies to get 2 prescriptions filled. They wouldn't fill them because I was a new customer and they wanted my doctor to call them in to them. So after wasting my entire lunch hour waiting in line and talking to them, I go back to work. I contacted my doctor and she informed me she had called the prescriptions in. After work, I return to the pharmacy and I'm told, "Yes we received your prescriptions [For some reason we sat on our butt all afternoon and didn't try filling them...] so please wait 30 minutes while we fill them. I waste 30 minutes looking around the store only to come back to the pharmacy and be told "We're sorry sir... we should have checked our inventories before we took your order -- we are out of those drugs until Monday"
!!!!!!!
Of course now all the other pharmacies are closed and I have to go to the hospital (where my insurance is not accepted) and they have no prescription to waste even more time to obtain drugs that I need to live!
I am having a hard time believing that quantities of drugs on hand at a pharmacy are not accounted for down to the last pill... this information should be available instantly via computer. Computers are accurate, why are so many employees so incompetent?
