Question:

Is it just me or this another fine example of incompetent employees?

Today during my lunch hour I stopped by one of the local pharmacies to get 2 prescriptions filled. They wouldn't fill them because I was a new customer and they wanted my doctor to call them in to them. So after wasting my entire lunch hour waiting in line and talking to them, I go back to work. I contacted my doctor and she informed me she had called the prescriptions in. After work, I return to the pharmacy and I'm told, "Yes we received your prescriptions [For some reason we sat on our butt all afternoon and didn't try filling them...] so please wait 30 minutes while we fill them. I waste 30 minutes looking around the store only to come back to the pharmacy and be told "We're sorry sir... we should have checked our inventories before we took your order -- we are out of those drugs until Monday"

!!!!!!!

Of course now all the other pharmacies are closed and I have to go to the hospital (where my insurance is not accepted) and they have no prescription to waste even more time to obtain drugs that I need to live!

I am having a hard time believing that quantities of drugs on hand at a pharmacy are not accounted for down to the last pill... this information should be available instantly via computer. Computers are accurate, why are so many employees so incompetent?

  1. I worked for a pharmacy for 12 years.  We knew at all times how many of every single item we stocked were on hand.  This is a Federal Law.  You have to count narcotics daily, plus have inventory on computer.  Sounds like a really bad pharmacy.

  2. Sounds like the Pharmacy has been infiltrated by Obama supporters.  Nothing you can do.  You'll have to find another pharmacy.

  3. You didn't say who the pharmacy was but having had the same experience myself I would have to guess Wallgreens.  You can't get good help these days. The public schools don't teach it and you can't learn it by playing video games.

  4. Check to see if the pharmacist has a sister store that can fill in the prescription. So for your troubles, its not excusable.

  5. Did you want Oxycontin?  Probably Rush Limbaugh cleaned the pharmacy out.

  6. were they illegals??

  7. By chance was it a CVS???  I will never get another prescription filled there again.  The one and only time I went there, I felt like I was in a "cattle call".

  8. Incompetence is abundant these days, that's for sure! Do you think it could be directly linked to our miserably failing government run schools? An education that no longer focuses on the basics of education (reading, writing, math, science, etc.), but rather a "feel good" "let the student guide the curriculum" "everyone is a winner" bull c**p self esteem based education...
