  1. How is that weird? It's just that the Chinese are working extra, extra hard so that they can excel and make their country proud.

  2. no, the USA is only behind by 1 or 2 so far.  we were in the lead for quite a while.  chinese athletes are very talented, and deserve medals.

  3. well, no

is it kind of weird that China is beating America?

  4. China did well in athens 2004 and Sidney 2000 as well. How is it weird that they are doing good now? Are you retarded?

  5. NO  i dont know if u have realised but for the last few olympics china have always been on top.

  6. Maybe if the host country was Mexico, but China has always been a top contender! That's not strange at all!

  7. No, I don't find that weird at all.

The Chinese always seem to do well at the olympics each year.

Plus, the US was in the lead not too long ago.

They're only behind by a couple.

  8. The host country always aspires to lead the medals table, but to say that this is entirely due to China being the host isn't exactly true.

Athens 1896: Greece hosts, ranked 2nd in medals table

Paris 1900: France hosts, ranked 1st

St. Louis 1904: USA hosts, ranked 1st

London 1908: Great Britain hosts. ranked 1st

Stockholm 1912: Sweden hosts, ranked 1st

Antwerp 1920: Belgium hosts, ranked 4th

Paris 1924: France hosts, ranked 3rd

Amsterdam 1928: Holland hosts, ranked outside top 5

Los Angeles 1932: USA hosts, ranked 1st

Berlin 1936: Germany hosts, ranked 1st

London 1948: Great Britain hosts, ranked outside top 5

Helsinki 1952: Finland hosts, ranked outside top 5

Melbourne 1956: Australia hosts, ranked 3rd

Rome 1960: Italy hosts, ranked 3rd

Tokyo 1964: Japan hosts, ranked 3rd

Mexico City 1968: Mexico hosts, ranked outside top 5

Munich 1972: West Germany hosts, ranked 4th

Montreal 1976: Canada hosts, ranked outside top 5 (and only hosts never to win a gold medal at their own games)

Moscow 1980: USSR hosts, ranked 1st

Los Angeles 1984: USA hosts, ranked 1st

Seoul 1988: Korea hosts, ranked 4th

Barcelona 1992: Spain hosts, ranked outside top 5

Atlanta 1996: USA hosts, ranked 1st

Sydney 2000: Australia hosts, ranked outside top 5

Athens 2004: Greece hosts, ranked outside top 5

  9. umm I think your question is the most retarded question ever because you've answered it yourself. Did you even know that usually the host country does better than usual? wow. like in athens, greece did better than they usually do. and Plus china always does good, in athens they came in like what, second?

  10. No, I don't think so at all. I do not believe China would cheat to get the most medals. I think it is annoying how so many Americans (including people in my family) are trying to think of ways the Chinese are "cheating", just so that they can get the USA to win more. These athletes have trained there whole LIVES, the best one should win.

  11. There is 1.3 Billion of them and they are newly rich and sports mad and competing in front of their home crowd!

Wait until the Athletics then their Medal count will slow down.

  12. before the olympics even began people were betting on who would win the most medals--usa or china. it was expected to be a VERY close run and we both have a huge number of athletes competing...and the quality of those athletes is second to none.

just because china is ranked on top doesn't mean that they are cheating their way there. the athletes are proud...hosting an athletic event on this scale can be very inspiring for people.

you wouldn't like it if other nations were doubting the abilities of the US athletes...don't be so cynical and presumptive.
