Is it labor or not???

Question

i feel these sharp pains in vaginal area the like stabbing pains then my back feels uncomfortable they have been coming and going bout an hour and they still hurt really bad is this labor or not i am almost 38 weeks

it sounds like labor alright go to the hospital and if its not time they will just send you back home no big deal. Congrats on the baby.

it very well could be the early stage of labor start in your back what you can do is go and power walk and walk through it and walk for a hour and see if it get worst and to tell if they are the real thing go get in a warm tub a water and if the slow down or stop not the real thing if they keep on walk and sit in a chair lean forward and rock from side to side and that should get it but walk that is the thing cause you want the pain if  the pain stop so does the the process of things

It could be labor or it could be braxton hicks contractions (false labor). I have braxton hicks and they can get pretty painful and it feels like what you are describing. If they are not getting more intense or are not consistent then it is probably not real labor. Try to time them, if they are 2-5 minutes apart then you are probably in active labor. If not try to lay down and relax, drink a lot of water, and have someone rub your back if you can. Hope I helped and best of luck!

It is labor, ring your midwife and get to the hospital as soon as possible
