  1. yes

  2. They usually do,although some  of the snootier establishments make a "service charge"

  3. i think so but they can charge a silly deposit for the glass if they so wish

  4. yes they should supply it free weither they sell food or not . also nite clubs by law should do the same . when you ask for water ask for tap and they should give it you .it is the law theres bound to be a web site with publicans law on , but dont know where prehaps health and saftey ?

  5. yes for washing your hands only they do not have to provide drinking water

  6. Yes, they have to provide drinkable free water, but it is allowed to be from the taps in the toilet, it doesn't have to come from the bar or kitchen, as long as it comes from free flowing pipes to stop the growth of legionaires disease, ie not from a storage tank.

And that's definate, I've done all that H&H stuff for commercial use.

  7. If food is sold i think they have to, if its only a drinking pub then no it is up to the landlord.

  8. If they sell food yes. Also I think its a legal requirement for nightclubs to provide free water regardless of whether they sell food or not.

  9. nope  if they do require it they may use your toilet  and get it from a tap but you are not obliged to give a glass

its a public house and you reserve the right to refuse service to anyone

  10. No one in the land can refuse anyone a glass of water. Pub, Five Star Hotel or your front door. You'd have to be evil to say no
