  1. i do not think its is a good idea

  2. it shouldnt have to be a legal matter, no one in their right mind would allow a 10 year old to babysit their child/ren

  3. Yes.

  4. i wouldnt want a 10 y.o kid watch my kids

  5. I highly doubt it.  A 10 year old should not even be left alone much less watch a younger child.

  6. I'm not exactly sure, but I don't know if you'd get much business. I wouldn't want anyone under the age of 14 or 15 with my kids when I have them, and even then, it depends on the maturity of the teen.

  7. A 10 year old shouldn't even be left on their own.

I wouldn't trust anyone under 13 to babysit.

  8. i think a ten year old is too young to babysit...no matter where in the world they live.

ten year olds don't have enough responsibility

  9. h**l no, what if the little kid he was watching started a fire, and the 10 year old was to busy watching spongebob squarepants to notice.

  10. I would not entrust a 10 year old to babysit as they are a child themselves.

They are a minor and under age of consent.

  11. it is legal but it's not safe you should put your son in this class in red cross it costs 75$ but it's worth it i have mine sense i was 11 and it helped i learned cpr and important things like that and at the end you get a peace of paper that says thats you are legal for babysitting and you are trained on etc..

    hoped i helped:)

  12. Most states do not have laws regarding the age to stay home alone and/or babysit.  Many reference "maturity" which is quite subjective, so I do not understand that.

I have a ten year old daughter.  While I think she could possibly babysit her infant sister for a short period of time (the baby is 10 months old), I would not leave her with a newborn, a toddler or an older child.  But...I would not leave her with my baby either, except if I am outside.

Where I live, the Red Cross and the hospital both offer babysitting courses to children 11 and up, so I am guessing that is what has been deemed by someone, somewhere, as an appropriate age to babysit.  I was babysitting my little sisters at ten, and other children at 12.  I just can not imagine letting my child do so.

She points out that if she is able to babysit at 11, she should be able to stay home alone at 10.  That is good reasoning, it just does not meet my standards.  She has stayed home for about ten minutes, though she would like to stay home when we have doctor appointments or what not-that is NOT happening.

I doubt it is illegal, but if something were to happen to the child or the other children I am certain that neglect and/or endangerment charges would stick.  It is just not a good idea.

  13. No, it is not legal for a child under the age of 12 years to babysit anywhere in the U.S.

  14. well i know in my state its not an age a maturity thing... but they are to be alone at home not with anyone esle and not babysitting

  15. It's not a legal matter. It depends on how mature they are. I was trusted to babysit a !0 month old at age 10.
