I understood that it is illegal for Canadian to bring prohibited firearm and I will need a license to bring restricted and non-restricted firearm into Canada. However, I am not too certain about rather it is ok for me to import firearm accessories (ex: Picatinny Rail, Red Dot Sights, Slings...) into Canada. I browsed over the Firearm Act and the Criminal Code and see no reference to firearm accessories. Still, dealing with the Border Patrol Agents and explaining that these are for Paint-balling is the last thing I want to do after a 12 hour flight...

  1. If that is all your bringing you should be ok. If you look at the definition as to what is a firearm as defined by the Criminal Code, it is quite broad. That being said, none of the things you mention would be deemed as a firearm, and therefore there should be no issue.
