  1. to the dumbass soccer mom above me

It is a silly concern - parents need to tell their childeren what is right or wrong or just drive them to school themselves.

Another way of looking at is survival of the fittest ; the dumb ones dies and the legacy of the redneck inbred family line that they did belong to is now no longer a problem.

  2. it is legal. the bus driver cannot be held liable after the child is off teh bus

  3. Why is the child just standing next to the bus? Normally, with a young child they will wait until an adult is there to pick them up. The adult had better be there waiting.  If they have to cross the street in front of the bus, they will motion to the child that it is ok   to cross. If the child is right in front of there house, technically the driver of the bus has no obligation to wait for the child to enter the home. They delivered the child at the right destination. It is up to the parents or legal guardians to see to it that the child goes directly to the house.

  4. Contact your school district but rule # 7 states.

When the bus is stopped to load or unload, the students are the direct responsibility of the bus driver and the drivers directions must be followed.

    Hope that this helps.

  5. This is against NYS SED regulations. Students must be 15 feet away from the bus before pulling off.

In the school bus industry several children were ran over by the rear wheels.

You have a right to make a citizens complaint with that school bus company whether it be a district operator or a contactor.

Please call. Keep our children safe. Most states require the phone number to be posted on the rear of the bus.

It sounds to me like the driver needs to be spoken to by supervisor. It is clear that the driver is not checking his/her mirrors properly.

Check your local DMV website for info check this out

    http://www.nysdmv.com/broch/cdl/cdl10sec...

The danger zones are any area outside of the bus

that extend as much as 15 feet from the front

bumper, 15 feet from the left and right sides of the

bus and 15 feet behind the rear bumper of the

school bus. These areas are where children are in

the most danger of being hit, either by another

vehicle or their own bus. In addition, the area to the

left of the bus is always considered dangerous

because of passing vehicles. Figure 10.1 shows

    these danger zones.

Proper adjustment and use of all mirrors is vital to

the safe operation of the school bus. It is vital that

drivers observe the danger zone around the bus

and look for students, traffic, and other objects. You

should always check each mirror before operating

    the school bus.

  6. Talk with the school. It sounds dangerous to me.

  7. As long as the child is off the road, and doesn't have to cross the street, the driver has no further obligation to wait for them.

They only have to get the child to the authorized drop off position.

  8. Tell the woman she's making you nervous and frightened for your child, and politely ask her if she could extend her stop for a few seconds until your child is far enough from the bus in case your child slips or falls,  and if she answers bitterly and fails to start doing it, report her *ss to the D.o.T.  and the school board.   I hate school bus drivers like that.

Also, Do u know why school buses and taxi's always have squeaky brakes?   Cuz they drive like effin idiots to get where they're going.  and putting themselves before peoples safety.

and no u dumb*sses they are obligated to use their best judgement and Are responsible for that judgement and are Taught to judge when to pull away after the child exits,  I know what this guy is talking about, because it's happened with me too, and I'm involved in the transportation industry.  My child exited the bus once, and had to jump a snow drift lining the curb on the road. but before he tromped up and over the snow the school bus was already moving, and I said My God! what if he tripped and slipped under that thing!

So if she fails to address your concern, report the issue as stated above.

How is a child's life a silly concern

Asker is saying his child Is NOT free and clear from the bus in his opinion,  in the mean time take some videos for awhile :) lol.

  9. Nothing illegal.. its our responsibilty to instruct the child accordingly.

  10. The law on that may vary from state to state i know for a fact in Pennsylvania you have to wait till they are in there yard or on the side walk i know this because i drive school bus

  11. it's legal, tell your kid to get out of the road...

  12. If the child needs to cross the street than the bus needs to let the child cross then go.

Call the school, and the super attendent to report them

  13. Once they're off of and free and clear from the bus, they have no further obligation.

  14. it is legal but as a bus driver myself i would wait until the child has moved away from the bus

  15. They are suppose to be liable for the children until the reach their front step.  At least that's how it is here.  But I would assume that it depends on how old the child is and if that kid goes straight home once s/he steps off the bus.  If it's happening to you, all you have to do is either speak directly to the bus driver (in a courteous manner) or speak to the school about it.

And I gotta agree with John above me.  People are way too paranoid and need to get a life.  If you have a problem....that's YOUR problem!  It's not so critical that you have to get your panties in that big of a wad.  As long at the kid isn't in the middle of the road, he's pretty much safe.  Unless you are or have been a bus driver, you cannot tell them how to properly do their job.  Maybe he knows something you don't. ..... and I would believe that!  People like you seriously should NOT breed.

  16. I guess...

  17. You could pick up the kid yourself.

  18. It doesn't matter if it is legal or not. The school should have a policy regarding school bus safety. Call the school and ask what administrator is in charge of safety issues and explain why you are concerned. Don't make it a matter of trying to get somebody in trouble, rather your point should be how to keep all the kids safe getting to and from school.
