  1. A city bus is required by law to only stop at and pickup passengers from designated loading zones. Now I don't know the context of the question you are answering because it is missing some details...If the bus was turning and preparing for a turn, then yes they have a legal right to block the 2 lanes in order to make the turn effectively without their off track hitting something. This is known as running the zipper. Secondly, the bus could have been a trolley wire bus and went out to avoid something in his lane and the wires came off. Thirdly, the driver could be trying to stop at a designated stopping zone and there was not enough room for him to straighten out.i.e. he may have had to jut in and leave the tail end out blocking traffic. However, in the case point of law...a bus driven in a 60 km/hr zone and under has the legal right of way and you must brake for the bus or allow him to merge. If in fact that the bus was a city school bus with flashers then it is the law that everyone must stop....2 lane or not. Hope this helps with what you had in mind.

  2. From what I see everyday, they can do just what ever they want to but if you think it is wrong just write down the bus number and call it in.

    Good luck

  3. Good question.  Why dont you try making a citizens arrest and let us know how it goes for you.

  4. i dont think so. If it is blocking traffic maybe take down the number plate. I really dont think that is legal at all!!

  5. Yes. They are picking up and dropping passengers, they can do it however they need to. If you don't drive a bus, you don't understand what it takes to manuevre them-you might think there's plenty of room to pull over but in reality, there isn't.
