Is it legal for a company to limit your rights ?

In this case in the US, the company requires us to take their own driving test for us to be able to drive on our own free time, even though we have US driving licenses. So I'm wondering if this is legal.

Thanks !

  1. .   Legal .   They usually do this if you will be driving one of their vehicles home at night.

  2. It's weird, but I don't think it's illegal.  I also don't see how taking a driving test 'limits your rights.'  They can conduct drug screens, which also are monitoring your use of your "free time".  Taking a driving test is much less invasive than handing over a cup of your urine.

  3. To drive on your own FREE TIME?!!!! No. This is not legal, and the company cannot enforce it.

  4. First, driving is not a right, it is a privilege.  Second, what are you leaving out?  No US company can stop you from  driving your own vehicle in your own time on public roads.  Now, if the vehicle is owned by the company, or you would be driving on company property, the company can do whatever it wants to in addition to the standards required by the state.

  5. Im not sure i understand your statement.

If you were to fail this driving test, what would happen? You cannot be fired for failing their driving test unless your job requires driving, or if it states in your contract that you must comply with the test.

  6. If you are driving a company car or something, it would be legal
