There is no posting. Their receipts don't show number of gallons pumped, price of gas per gallon, only the date and total.

I've been using this station for over a year and this is the first time it has been mentioned by the guy who pumps the gas, not a self service. He says he's only been working there 2 weeks but prior to that the other attendant who I always see has never said a word about a difference.

Yes I also know the brand name stations, Mobil, Exxon, Texaco, Gulf, and Shell, had separate pumps--one for self service and one for full service. Those pumps were clearly marked but the difference was less than 0.10 per gallon as I remember.

I will definitely report them to the local tv channels and the Attorney General of New York.

BTW it cost me $74 to fill up my tank.

  1. Probably, but you should complain to your state's attorney general's office which will make sure they post the sign.  This is happening all over.  It costs the station money when they accept credit cards, sometimes up to 5%, so they can lose money in these times with prices going up and down so fast.

If you want faster help, contact your local TV station's investigative reporter or someone from the local paper.

  2. Did they at least post the price difference?  That's all that's required (proper price list).

They been doing this in NYC (and everywhere I've been to) for 30 years.

    Good Luck....
