First off, I dont wanna hear the c**p of, well dont drink and drive and you wont have a problem. I was pulled over with 2 beers in my system that i drank in 2.5 hours. NOT DRUNK, but a police man pulled me over because I "accelerated to quickly"! but he was parked in an alley thats posted "NO PARKING AT ANYTIME" right in front of a bar; poaching. Is this legal for them to do this in CA? By the way, its IMPOSSIBLE for my old truck to accelerate quick in anyway that dosent involve a cliff.

  1. yes it's perfectly legal for the cops to wait outside of bars, and they are allowed to park where ever they need to.  most no parking zones are there for police and fire vehicles.

They can also legally lie to you about why they pulled you over.  If they saw you leave the bar, they could have probable cause to pull you over,

Did they pop you for a DUI or let you go?

  2. He wasn't parked. He was standing.

  3. Yes, they can sit there in their cruiser. I assume you were let go without any kind of issues.

  4. Sometimes Officers can save your Lives and Others. They helped me.

Yes, It is legal to part in front of a bar.. ( The officers follow the bylaws of the city, state etc)

May sound Unfair , but legal. Some believe it is  entrapment

There was a case in Toronto, where a lawyer and a policeman were at

party and the laywer had one too many and told the policeman

( that he was going home.  The officer phoned his buddies and

his buddies  stopped him  the lawyer on an a route that that rarely

patrolled.  and charged him with DUI.. The lawyer went to court

and was aquitted. ( used entrapment , re police and won )

However, no one should.be drining under the influece. I thank that

officer that stopped me , when though I was  Ok, but was weaving.

It happened to me and I  had a couple of beers at a social

and  I was not drunk. I was driving home when an officer stopped me because I was driving erratically

and to be careful and let me go. ( The officer thought I was

incoxicated ) but I wasn't He shone the flashlight, and told me my eyes

were glazed. ( This was in Canada maybe in USA I could have been

    charged.

.I went to the doctor the next day as I did not feel I was driving

erratically and wanted to know why my eyes looked glazed and he

tested me for diabetes ( after I told him the story)

and my glucose level was very high. I don't touch a beer now and take

medication. The policeman may have saved my life re driving. I could

have had a diabetes reaction and killed someone.

  5. That's a cop for you I've been pulled over for having an air freshener on the rear view..and for having 3 stickers on the rear window...it must have been a really slow night for them...but it's legal...who are the gonna believe anyways.

  6. Well, if you only had 2 beers in 2.5 hours, it's unlikely you'd blow higher than the .08 level.

As to your question, there is no law that states a cop can't sit outside of a bar waiting for people to come out. That would kind of impeded part their jobs, keeping drunks off the roads. That's like asking if there's a law against firetrucks parking in front of a fire hydrant when putting out a fire.

Not sure why he made that excuse if that's true about your truck, though, they can pull you over just for suspicion alone.

  7. Yes. It is completely legal.  If you drank so little you should have been able to blow under .08 easy, thus what is the problem.
