Is it legal for your insurance company to prevent u from getting insurance from anyone else for 3 months?

ok my iinsurance dat i had said cause i missed a payment dat they will cancel me and dat i would not b able to get insurance from anyone else for 3 months n just yesterday i blew my knee out n got a concussion n cant go to da hospital cause i have no insurance n i was wondering if dat is legal wat they r doing

  2. It is of course legal for them to cancel your insurance since you didn't pay the premium.  They can't control whether OTHER companies will insure you.  Did you even TRY to get insurace from other companies?

    It's too late now to get coverage for injuries that have already happened.

  3. in the US many medical insurance providers have a waiting period for coverage unless you have proof of continuous coverage. when you cancel your insurance the carrier is to provide you with a letter showing your previous coverage. no they can not do what you claim they said but your use of the language seems a bit weak(at least your typing skills are) and i have a feeling you do not understand what it is they told you.(which i imagine is why you asked the question)

    they were probably explaining about waiting periods but with this question and the way you have worded this post it is hard to understand what you were told or what was meant.
