My dtr was having some medical issues (71/2 mos pregnant) and had a Dr's note stating she should be out for 2 weeks, then got extended an additional 2 weeks. The day she returned to work, is the day they told her she was laid off, now she finds out that the employer back dated the layoff to when she was out with her medical issues? Sounds like this was an intentionally move on her employer's part and we are wondering what my dtr's rights are? She is being told she cannot collect unemployment. Thank you

  1. I'm confused.  What do you mean by 'back dated'?  When was the layoff supposed to happen, and when did it happen?  I can't see any reason for the employer to do this, but nor can I see any logic to why she would not be able to collect unemployment (at least until her due date)
