I get stop coming home from school a lot and when they ask me to tell them who I am, I say "I don't have to tell you that till you tell me why you stopped me" (and no I don't have to tell them... they are just some guy in blue until they tell you why they stopped you) They seem to get mad and some have advanced on me when I simply and respectfully state to them he law witch they swear to uphold! there are thousands of cases of police brutality just go on you tube and type in "police brutality" and see the small thing that set them off! I really don't care if it is legal I don't care if you the president you attack me I fight back there's no question about it... I just what to no whether I'm going to be in trouble for defending myself!

  1. His word against yours.  I'm certain that he'll come up with a reason, whether it's true or not.  They really can do whatever they want, well, most of the time.

  2. if he dont started something with you h**l yeah

  3. Fighting a cop that attacks you for no reason? SMART. If he attacks you for no reason I don't think you should be fighting back. The guy has a freaking gun.

  4. Well, it IS kind of rude to remind a police officer of the laws. If he had a reason to stop you (who knows?), then he was just trying to do his job and you were being a jerk about it. If he didn't have a reason, your failure to cooperate probably gave him a reason and made you seem suspicious.

Rather than go looking for trouble (which you would be if you continued to respond the way you have been, knowing what the results are), you should do your best to avoid it. This might mean coming home a different way, it might mean saying, "I'm Mark, I'm just heading home from work. What can I do for you, Officer?" if someone stops you. Yeah, it's probably annoying and maybe scary to be stopped, but if you're being mouthy, you're just baiting him AND giving him a reason to suspect that you're up to no good.

  5. Firstly you ARE obligated to correctly identify yourself, you are not required to present proof unless you are operating a motor vehicle.

"The police may ask for your name if you have been properly detained, and you can be arrested in some states for refusing to give it. If you reasonably fear that your name is incriminating, you can claim the right to remain silent, which may be a defense in case you are arrested anyway."

in texas they can arrest you for any reason, you may remember the high profile case of a cop arresting a soccer mom. The cop handcuffed her, made someone come get the children, towed her car,  took her to the station fingerprints, wait on bail the whole nine yards for not wearing her seatbelt.

  6. I've seen Cops get their behinds beat on few occasions.  Mostly by women and just a few men.  I felt sorry for the ones that didn't start it.

  7. It's a tough job don't you think you'd be a bit tense after a day facing smart asses like yourself?
