The car is not on the sidewalk or other public property at all- only on private, personal property. And to be more specific, I'm talking about New Jersey, however any and all information would be appreciated.

  1. Most cities have ordinances prohibiting such activity, specifically, parking on an unimproved surface. It is a proven fact that communities that allow such parking have lower property values, as it is a blight and unsightly.

Secondly, many jurisdictions have ordinances that prohibit a vehicle from being parked in the front yard due to fire codes, i.e. blocking means of egress in case of a fire or other emergency.

  2. Yes, in many southern states and in most ghettos.

  3. Most cities don't alow it.

  4. It is illegal in my city to park/store a vehicle on any 'unimproved surface' (i.e. concrete/asphalt).

So, while I can't say about your town, it would be illegal in mine.

  5. I don't think there would be any problem if the vehicle is operational.  Many areas will dissaprove if the vehicle is non-operational.  Check your county/city laws, and if your in a neighborhood community with a homeowners association, that it doesn't violate their rules either.

  6. In the city that I work for, it is illegal.  However, it's not part of the California Vehicle code, it's municipal code, so it may be different for your place of residence.

The reason it's illegal here is because it looks trashy.  This is Southern California though, so, who knows what you might get away with over there.

  7. It should generally be fine, though individual cities and towns, or even homeowners' associations, could have rules preventing it from a nuisance abatement standpoint.

  8. Cities can set standards, and keeping front yards from being junk yards is one of them.  So the short answer is no you cannot.

  9. It definately NOT legal anywhere in city areas California.  You can park it on the street or in your driveway.  It can be in your back yard, but NEVER in your front yard, unless you happen to have a circular driveway in front of your house!

If you live in the rural areas on a large chunk of land, then you can do what you please as long as your house does not "front" on the roadway or you have a private road that is off the main Highway.

  10. I dont know how that all the latino cultures, all the races of mexicans, hispanics, peurto ricans, columbians, and cubans and all the outher south american latino latin countries got togehter (not to mention the backwoods redenecks) and taught each other how to park their cars on their lawns.

Dis tasteful yes, in every way.

However every city, and county and municipality in the united states has clauses against this.  They are called city ordinances, and codes.  Home Owners Associations also can restrict people from parking their cars on their lawns.

So the best thing to find you if you and your 20 cousins can have a car show every day about 7PM when they come home from work is to ask the citiy managers or county clerks offices if you can park your cars on your lawn.

  11. not as long as you have the owners permission
