  1. original you keep but photostat copies you can leave when you apply for passport

  2. You do need to show your original birth certificate in getting your passport.  After that, it will be returned to you.  Coz you will need to attach it in your visa application as part of the requirement.  Then after getting such visa, it will be returned to you.

Hope you have a nice day :)

  3.   The passport office normally does not get the original birth certificate.

The passport office would ask the applicant to have his birth certificate photocopied and the photocopy will be attached to the application.

       Have a nice day !

  4. The DFA (Department of Foreign Affairs) requires the submission of a PHOTOCOPY of birth cert and also the authenticated birth certificate from the NSO (National Statistics Office). Meaning, you don't need to submit the original copy of your birth certificate.

  5. I also didn't get back my legal documents/certificate when i was applying a passport before, I think that's a policy.

  6. When I applied for a passport in Zamboanga City, the DFA-IX did not return any of my original documents including my authenticated live birth certificate. I thought that was the policy.
