  1. I don't think you're allowed to have an open can or bottle of beer and alcohol in public in the city of Chicago. You could get arrested if the police sees you. It's okay inside a private home, restaurant, bar, or sports stadium like Wrigley field as long as you don't drive afterward. One time when I was eating an Italian Beef sandwich at a fast food place near my college, I saw an older bum drinking a can of beer outside of the restaurant minding his own business. Two Chicago police officers came up to him and arrested him on the spot. They dumped the beer in the garbage but kept the can (probably for evidence).

  2. Nope, drinking is not allowed on the beaches or in the parks. That being said, people DO drink in the parks and on the beaches but the smart ones are discreet. Plastic cups, those beer cozy things, plastic "water" bottles. Look, if you're going to do it, know that you can get busted. But your best bet is to be as discreet as possible.

  3. ya ur not supposed to have open alcohol on the beach...but everytime i go there is absolutley no shortage of coolers and plastic cups

  4. You're not supposed to have alcohol on the beaches or on the street at all in Chicago. Where I live (on the south side) the police will mess with you even if the alcohol isn't open and they see you carrying it with you.

They probably don't heckle people as much on North Avenue or Oak Street but I'm pretty sure you're still not supposed to have it.

Sometimes people will put alcoholic drinks in juice bottles or something so that the police won't know if they see it - they'll just think the person brought a juice with them.
