Will the X-ray machines at the airport damage the food and is it legal to bring it with me for my personal use?

  1. Why would you want to go to that kind of inconvenience when there is such an abundance of fresh fruit and vegetables available daily. Many people in Mexico are vegetarians and finding a vegetarian restaurant or meal is seldom difficult.Freshly squeezed orange and grapefruit  juice is available almost everywhere in the morning as is freshly baked bread/rolls, granola, herb teas and made to order fresh fruit smoothies. You can often find inexpensive salad bars and vegetarian buffets in the afternoon. If you go to the large supermarkets you can find veggie burgers and veggie hot dogs as well as other vegetarian products.I have never had a problem finding something to eat in Mexico.Even in the smallest most remote places the local restaurant will usually prepare some kind of vegetable/and or fruit plate for you if you tell them you are a vegetarian. Leave the frozen stuff at home and don't worry. You will eat better in Mexico than you do at home.

**email me if you have any questions. I may be able to give you some names of restaurants if I know where you are going.

  2. Hola. Over the years I have brought lots of frozen meat with me.  Back before we could purchase turkeys here I would put one in a cooler and bring it through.  I have also brought frozen salmon, etc.  Now I don't because I can buy almost anything here now.  Including veggie burgers and veggie hotdogs.  I wouldn't bother...almost all the tourist towns in Mexico have grocery shops that are comparable to home.

  3. it´s forbidden to bring any kind of food to Mexico; even if its frozen; some airlines allows you to bring it at the main cabin but at the Mexican airport (at the migration area) when they check your luggage they will keep all the food

why you don't call to your airline and ask for more information

    check this website

or contact the Mexican embassy or the Mexican agriculture secretary (sagarpa) they can help you because maybe you can prove that you have to eat that food for a medical reason
