I'm not planning on building on(don't even know how), but I'm wondering if it's legal (I saw that movie, The Manhattan Project)

  1. No.

  2. There is a serious debate about that.

    Is that 'bearing arms'?

    I think that can be regulated, as not your typical militia type armament.  However, I see a technical argument for the other side.

    Mind you, it doesn't matter because storing and disposing of the hazardous wastes involved will get you in quite enough legal trouble.

  3. i thought it was until they came and took the two i had in the basement

  4. You could build the parts, but I don't think you're allowed to own plutonium or uranium.

  5. the Manhattan project (the actual one) was issued and requested by the government

    so unless the gov't asked you to, its probably NOT legal

  6. If you are the gov't or working under a gov't sanction, then yes. Otherwise, serious jail time.

  7. No, it is not legal to build a h-bomb, d.a.

  8. YES indeedy, Einstein !

  9. Such a weapon is considered a Weapon of Mass Destruction and would be illegal for a civilian to own.

    2122. Prohibitions governing atomic weapons

    How Current is This? (a) It shall be unlawful, except as provided in section 2121 of this title, for any person, inside or outside of the United States, to knowingly participate in the development of, manufacture, produce, transfer, acquire, receive, possess, import, export, or use, or possess and threaten to use, any atomic weapon. Nothing in this section shall be deemed to modify the provisions of section 2051 (a) or 2131 of this title.

    (b) Conduct prohibited by subsection (a) of this section is within the jurisdiction of the United States if—

    (1) the offense occurs in or affects interstate or foreign commerce; the offense occurs outside of the United States and is committed by a national of the United States;

    (2) the offense is committed against a national of the United States while the national is outside the United States;

    (3) the offense is committed against any property that is owned, leased, or used by the United States or by any department or agency of the United States, whether the property is within or outside the United States; or

    (4) an offender aids or abets any person over whom jurisdiction exists under this subsection in committing an offense under this section or conspires with any person over whom jurisdiction exists under this subsection to commit an offense under this section.

  10. Awwwww!!! You poor little dummy! Of course it is!

  11. no

  12. Of course not. If it alarms our government so much that other nations build their own weapons, think how they would feel about independently

    owned doomsday machines.

    But I am of the opinion that every person on earth should own a weapon big enough to destroy the planet.

    Then we'll have to evolve or die. Actually, I think at this point we have to evolve or die... but my suggestion is more dramatic.
