IT MIGHT BE LEGAL; I DO NOT KNOW. BUT IN SOME PLACES ALMOST ANYTHING CAN BE DONE. I HAVEN'T HEARD OF ELEPHANTS BEING IN INDONESIA. IF SUFFICIENT DEPTH OF THOUGHT GOES INTO THE MATTER, PERHAPS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN "LEGAL" AND "ETHICAL" MIGHT COME INTO THE INTENTION TO BUY AND SELL. ANOTHER QUESTION WOULD BE, WHETHER OR NOT, THE ARTICLE, IF OBTAINED, COULD BE IMPORTED/CARRIED, INTO THE COUNTRY OF ONE'S RESIDENCE!!

It depends to which countries.

If it is legal it's because they are some 50 years behind the times and consequently they'll also pay nothing for it as they are all likely to be starving themselves.

I am sure you can find less problematic articles you can export from indonesia.
