  1. Yes, it is completely legal, but it is very bad etiquette if you're not in a real tournament. There's no reason Joe Shmoe should be chipping over a turn in the green to try and save his double bogey when he's playing with his drinking buddies.

If you ever try it, keep in mind that you're still on the green, and still must pull the pin if you don't want to commit a foul if you hit it in.

  2. yes.

  3. yes.  you just wont be popular

  4. Yes. I've seen some tournaments where the golfer either breaks his putter in anger or it just breaks. In that case the only club to use would be a wedge of some sort. So, you can definitely chip on the green. However, I think the golfers approach would be to putt with the wedge, not actually chip it.

  5. Of course it's legal.  Why would it not be?  That's like saying you're only allowed to hit a sand wedge out of the sand.  Hitting wedges on the green happens all the time.

  6. yes you can i seen John Daly do it in a tourney once...but he's a bit of a boozer

  7. YES IT IS BUT I WOULD NOT ADVISE IT.

  8. It is legal, but most clubs disapprove of chipping on the green. If you are playing in competition you are absolutely allowed to do it. No questions about it. YES!!

  9. It is legal to do so.  Is it advisable?  Not so much.

  10. yes dadadah

  11. In a simple word: Yes

There are no rules as to which club you can use on any part of the course. On very large greens it is not at all unusual so see players hit a wedge shot from close to the edge of the green. Now, it you pull out the driver, you know that you're on a really big green!

  12. In one simple word:  no

  13. Of Course your allowed, especially if your putting sucks.

  14. no your not allowed to use a darn putter but you are allowed to putt the ball with a wedge

  15. Yes it is, but you have to have great ability to do it without damaging the green.  No chunky chips on the green.

  16. before listening to the answerers here that said no--make them come up with a source or reason why not.  Of course you can use whichever club you choose.  Make sure you repair the green whether you do damage or not.

  17. sure, you can ply your shot as you see fit......just make sure you replace your divot.....LOL

  18. Yes it is legal.
