  1. Under US copyright law, you are allowed one backup copy for fair rights usage, even if a licenser tells you otherwise. You may not distribute this copy, lend it out, nor ever permit both copies to be used concurrently, as it is merely to protect you if your other copy fails or is destroyed through negligence. Also, if you must circumvent protection to copy the CD, you can't legally copy it, as doing so violates the Digital Millenium Copyright Act.

    I hope this answer helps.

  2. it is a grey area to copy for your own use, technically, it is illegal.

it is illegal to copy and distribute, sell, or give away free.

when you buy a pre-recorded CD, you are only buying the license to that one CD and any that you produce from the orginal are not licensed.

  3. It's is legal to copy CD's. Unless you sell them. I copy CDs all the time and stuff. Nothing happens. Trust me. Hope I helped!! =)

  4. Yes, it is illegal, but know one will arrest you for copying a cd. Unless you try to sell them.
