  1. Republicans choose to be republicans, therefore, they are not constitutionally guaranteed protection from discrimination based on their political beliefs unless it impedes their personal rights such as voting, where they can live at, what church they can go to, etc.

  2. Party affiliation is not a protected class under the law.

If the discrimination is against a male or an older person or a white person or a person with a mental disability, or any combination, it may not be discrimination because of party affiliation and may be covered.  Check with your attorney.

  3. They probably think they are....Discriminate away, I do it to the Republicans all the time.

  4. Yes it is illegal and also against a Democrat, I think.

  5. h**l YES,

ONCE YOU GO TO JAIL ALONG WITH THE OTHER LIBS WHO ALSO DISCRIMINATED AGAINST THE WISE REPUBLICANS THEY WILL PULL OUT YOUR TOE NAILS AND HOLD DEBATES ON WHY IT COULD BE WRONG.

THEN IT WILL GO TO THERE COMMIE COMMITTEE WHERE IT WILL BE DEBATED ON HOW WRONG IT WAS AND SHOULD AN APOLOGY BE MADE. THEN IT WILL COME UP FOR VOTE. BUT THAT WILL BE PUT ON HOLD BECAUSE MOST DEMOCRATS ARE STUPID.  REMEMBER STUPID IS AS STUPID DOES. YOU GUYS MAKE FORREST GUMP LOOK LIKE A "GENIUS".

  6. depends on the context but I guess so

  7. Yes, it's legal in most instances. The only (federally) protected classes are s*x, race, nationality, disability, religion, pregnancy, etc. In some states there are additionally protected classes, including political affiliation.

  8. Well based on what Congress is claiming of the AT WILL LAWYERS THAT GW FIRED....party affiliation MUST be a covered class....but it was OK for Clinton to fire 80...BUT not for GW to fire 9

  9. Republicans may be covered under the "Americans with disabilities act".

  10. Yeah, if their big words and complex thoughts give you a headache, ignore them and have another beer.  Don't be surprised if you end up owing your entire paycheck to the government later though.

  11. Discrimination is not covered by the Constitution.

It is illegal to discriminate based on creed....  but it has nothing to do with the Constitution.

  12. Yes.  It is legal.  You can't discriminate on the basis of race, s*x, gender, age, but these are all named exclusions.

Otherwise, your democratic club can keep republicans out, just like the boy scouts can keep g**s out.

  13. Frankly, no particular group is constitutionally protected.  The Constitution applies to individuals, not groups, and it covers all of us.  Now, I know of no statute that prohibits discrimination against political groups, but that would fly in the face of social values and legal precedent.  I'm sure that if it became a major problem, they would add that to the list, but good grief I hope it never comes to that because for every group we add, we lose a little bit of freedom of expression and thought.  Soon, we won't be able to be critical of anyone for any reason.

Also, I find it interesting that liberals here, who usually claim to be open to all forms of thought and expression, and are constantly crying out about the injustice of discrimination, are now saying how great and wonderful it is to discriminate against members of a political party they don't agree with.  Isn't that what Stalin and Hitler did?  They imprisoned, enslaved, and executed those who did not agree.

And far left libs wonder why so many people can't stand them and see them as a grave threat to American society.

  14. I'm sure a liberal judge somewhere has made it possible but Im sure the Dems are protected

  15. I would say it was okay.

  16. I think it depends how so you do.

  17. discrimination isnt illegal. you have the right to do what you feel. but descrimination can be a horrible thing.

  18. I have a bachelor's degree in Government and Public Policy so please trust what I say.  It depends on several items, mainly first if it is set a public or private domain. The ADA protects rights of people who feel they are discriminated against in the public; not a business or neighbor unless it involves employer /employee tensions; then check with a lawyer.

ADA automatically supercedes all state laws and does not necessarily tread over any State Court of Appeals ruling. The agency that has experts on this is called the Equal Employment Opportunity Commision.

  19. They cannot be denied access to government services such as public riding transportation, health care, law enforcement, education, etc.

However, you can deny him access to your private property, organization or club. In private businesses such as restaurants however the law also protects them from being denied services.
