Originally from Ohio, but going to college in Indiana....can you drink alcohol with your parents? We rent a house so it's in our names. Or is this something only some states allow?

  1. Not legal, and ur parents can get in trouble also if u get busted by the cops. U will get a citation for underage drinking and ur parents will get a citation for child negligence's or buying alcoholic beverages to a minor. Aiding and abetting. If ur parents are cool then do ur thing but make sure u cant get cought.

  2. Its illegal to drink underage period.  Its not legal just because your parents decided to give you alcohol.

I doubt your parents or any family member will report you because you are drinking beer or wine that your father gave you.  But someone might think that your parents are negligent or possibly poor parents for giving you alcohol.  Yes, they can report your parents.  Especially if you cause a scene or destroy local property after being intoxicated.  They can actually be sued for negligence.  Otherwise they can just call the cops saying your parents are unfit guardians.  Social services might get involved.

All this would only happen if there was a problem with you drinking alcohol.  First of all, who would know you are drinking alcohol?

You cant drink at a restaurant just because your parents pass you a glass of wine.  They can call the cops.  There are rules at public places.  Offering alcoholic beverages to a minor is a felony in most states.

  4. you are fine- but it is illegal. just don't go overboard. (:

  5. No it's never legal to drink under the age of 21. And it's illegal to buy alcohol for people under 21.

I really don't care, and if your parents don't care then I don't think you'll get caught.

  6. its still illegal but just stay in your house

  7. Yeah, um, i dont think that's allowed in the USA. You have to be 21.

    ...and guess what?

I think they do it for a reason. =)

  8. Not legal... sorry...

    :-(

  9. yes u are allowed to in your own home under supervision of ur parental gaurdians

once u take a step off ur property its illegal

  10. Nope...contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

    They're going to jail too.

  11. No! the law is the law, but god dam i wish i did if was your age back than.

  12. No, it's not legal.  Your parents are breaking the law and being irresponsible for letting underage people drink.

  13. seriously, if your parents let you, it's no big deal, just don't be stupid and brag about it lol cuz some people might tell their parents, and so on and so on, and it'll get out of hand and your parents could get in alot of trouble

  14. No, but it should be.

  15. It's never legal to drink when you're under an area's drinking age.

  16. It's not legal. However, it is very unlikely that someone would press an issue if you are simply having a glass of wine with dinner in your own house. And how would they know?

  17. I believe that it is now technically illegal everywhere.  Back (waaaaaay back in the 1970's) when I was a new LEO it was legal in Ontario for a parent to give alcohol to their own underage child in their own home.  I still think that it was a good idea as long as the underage child was being taught to drink responsibly.  Cheers!!

  18. nah you can drink anyways

  19. Yes illegal and your parents could be arrested and evicted.

  20. nope, not legally.

but who cares. If your parents are letting you, I really doubt you'll get "busted".

  21. most likely not legal...no but h**l bottoms up. im a freshman in college n i still rely on my parents for booze lol as long as ur not retarded about it youll be ok.
