Is it legal to drive a pitbike/dirtbike on the streets?

Is it legal to drive one of thoes mini dirtbike or like a fast gas powerd scooter on the road or the freeway?? What are the limitations or the rules?

i would go check your local dmv restrictions on mini vehicles/scooters. because here it is legal to drive any kind of off road vehicle on public roadways. but i know at least in America it is illegal to drive any non street legal vehicle much less one that can't even go up to the speed limit on the freeway.
