Been straight salary since becoming employed by this small business, around 30 people. Work is getting slow now due to economy and I am being forced to take one full day a week off,.in half day increments. My pay is being docked for this forced time off. Is that legal? My state is Florida.

  1. If you are a salaried employee under contract they can't dock your pay for time that they require you to take off. You get the same pay each month regardless if it has 28, 29, 30, or 31 days, holidays that occur, snow days, vacation, etc. The only way they can dock you is if you take time off that is not authorized.

  2. Unless you have a contract with your employer that states otherwise, they may legally change your working hours/days and pay at any time
