Is it legal to have blue lights shining on the license plate in the trunk of a car?

The bulbs are not visible because the are behind the trim and shine on plate only.

Ohio Law states, "Either a tail light or a separate light shall be so constructed and placed as to illuminate with a white light the rear registration plate, when such registration plate is required, and render it legible from a distance of fifty feet to the rear."  I would assume that other states have similar wordings and that illumination from any color than white would be an offense.

its legal but somestimes cops can say well "hey its a distraction" u wont get a ticket for it

and if u do

u just go to court and told them that u took it out , and ur fine. :D

Not in Ma. no blue lites of any kind are allowed on the car.

If you can clearly see you license plate and the light isn't flashing i think it's legal. The worst that can happen is you get a warning.
